October 26, 2019
In mid‑July of this year, I sent a report and petition to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan and to several individual prelates. The petition asked for two things: (1) a prompt official statement regarding the mistreatment of the faithful who receive Communion on the tongue, and (2) information about concrete measures to prevent such mistreatment. As of October 26, however, no response or official statement has been issued.
In mid‑September, I also sent a report and petition to His Eminence Robert Cardinal Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. In it, victims of clerical misconduct in Japan begged the Holy See for assistance. A month and a half has now passed, yet no reply has been received from the Holy See.
I fear that, like the Japanese prelates, the Holy See will abandon those of us who wish to kneel and receive Holy Communion on the tongue.
Please pray for us!
